In 2007, God led me (Gerhard) to launch an organization called Jabulani African Ministries. Jabulani is the Zulu word for "rejoice." Our vision was to see all the youth of African "JABULANI" for Jesus. In 2010 we registered as a non-profit organization in South Africa and have grown ever since.
In the beginning, our big focus was to minister to the youth of South Africa. A very large percentage of our country are young people and children. In those early years we tried to serve as many communities as we could, but soon God clarified our calling and we focused on going DEEP instead of WIDE. Making disciples and raising leaders became of main focus.
Our Strategy
JAM exists to develop and support leaders to impact Africa for Christ. In the early years of our organization we only focused on young people and children. However, as the years went by God opened more doors for us to serve and develop leaders in the different spheres of society - church, community, government, etc.
We have four different bases across South Africa and also serve our partners in other African Countries such as Malawi, Zimbabwe, Liberia, Central African Republic, etc.
Three key focus areas are camping ministry, training events, and ongoing coaching. Our two main partners in Leadership Development are Leader Mundial and Pointman Leadership Institute.
